Primary UOM is used for on hand tracking and other inventory transactions in inventory. Secondary UOM can also be used for on hand tracking for few inventory transactions like SO shipping. Now if you don’t define relationship between primary and secondary UOM then you won’t be able to do any transactions in Secondary UOM.
